A boudoir photoshoot near Brussels is a full day for you: professional hair and makeup, a guided session in three outfits, and your photographs revealed the same day. My studio is in Waterloo, 30 minutes from Brussels Airport, and sessions can take place entirely in English.
I’m Steve Hubert, a boudoir photographer in Waterloo, just south of Brussels, since 2020. My studio was one of the first in Brussels and Walloon Brabant entirely dedicated to boudoir, and more than 350 women have stepped in front of my lens. These are the questions I hear most often, especially from women living in Brussels as expats or travelling to Belgium for their session.
Is a boudoir photoshoot worth it?
Most of my clients arrive unsure. Many have never posed, and some have waited years for the “right” body. What they tell me afterwards is rarely about the photographs alone. It’s about the day: being taken care of, being guided, and seeing themselves the way others see them.
Most do it for themselves, even when they first meant the photos as a gift. If that’s your question, read A boudoir shoot as a gift for him? Why most women do it for themselves.
How much does a boudoir photoshoot cost in Brussels?
At my studio near Brussels, a session starts from €499, including professional hair and makeup. That’s the starting point, not the total: your album and photo collections are chosen separately. I present them during our call, before you book, so you know exactly where you stand.
Why is boudoir photography so expensive?
Because it isn’t a quick photoshoot. The price reflects the time I give each client, from preparation to the selection of your images, as well as hair and makeup and a full day of guided session. And your photographs aren’t files lost on a phone: they’re printed in an album you keep. See what a session costs.
Are boudoir shoots awkward?
At the very beginning, sometimes. Then it passes. Before each pose, I explain it and show it to you myself: where to place your hands, your feet, your gaze. I regularly show you the images on the camera, so you see what I see. That’s usually the moment it clicks.
You set your limits, and I respect them. Nudity is never required. More in Boudoir poses for beginners: you don’t need to know how to pose.
Is it uncomfortable with a male photographer?
It’s a fair question, and many women ask it. We talk about your wishes and your limits before the session. During it, every pose is explained and shown before I ask for it, and you can say no at any moment. The makeup artist takes care of you at the start of the day, then the session is just the two of us, at your pace.
How long does a boudoir shoot last?
Keep the whole day for yourself. Hair and makeup, the session in three outfits and the reveal of your images all take their time, and nothing is rushed. We take breaks whenever you need.
How many outfits should I bring?
We usually photograph three. Bring more: we choose together on the day. We always start with lingerie you truly love. All my ideas are in What to wear to a boudoir shoot.
What should I bring to a boudoir photoshoot?
- Your outfits, three or more, on hangers
- A pair of heels
- The jewellery you love, and a personal piece if you have one
- Your favourite lipstick
- A snack
Come in loose clothes and a top that opens at the front, so you can change without spoiling your hair and makeup. A robe is waiting for you at the studio.
Should I shave or wax before a boudoir shoot?
Only if you wish. If you wax or shave, do it about 48 hours before, not the night before: early enough to avoid little red bumps, late enough to avoid regrowth. And coming unwaxed is perfectly fine.
How do I prepare my body for a boudoir shoot?
You don’t need to change it. Drink water, moisturise every day, avoid new skincare and tanning in the last week, and get a good night’s sleep. Once your date is set, my preparation guide walks you through it, week by week.
Is boudoir for plus-size women?
Boudoir is for every body. My clients are between 23 and 64, of every shape and size. Retouching stays natural: I don’t erase your stretch marks or reshape your body. Read Boudoir photos with stretch marks: why I don’t retouch your skin.
What do people do with their boudoir photos?
Most keep them in an album, to look at on their own or with a partner. Some choose a large print for their bedroom or dressing room. Your photographs stay private: nobody sees them without your written consent, and you decide, photo by photo, what may be shared, if anything.
Getting to the studio from Brussels
The studio is in Waterloo, in Walloon Brabant, a short drive south of Brussels and 30 minutes from Brussels Airport. Sessions are by appointment only. Can the session be in English?
Yes. The call, the preparation and the session itself can all take place in English. Sessions are also available in French and Dutch.
And in Paris?
I also photograph in a private Haussmann apartment in Paris. Discover the Paris Boudoir Experience.
