Whether you have already booked your session or you are still thinking about it, the question always comes up: what do I wear? Here is what works best on camera, from more than 350 sessions in my studio near Brussels. On the day, we choose three outfits together from what you bring.
Three outfits, three chapters
In your album, your outfits tell a story. Think of them as a progression, from the most covered to the most intimate.
- To start: a shirt, a sweater, a T-shirt. A gentle way in, and a lovely transition in the album when the shirt slips open.
- The lingerie: a bodysuit or a set you truly love. Often the outfit with the strongest images.
- To finish: the most intimate or the boldest. For many of my clients, that is simply a white sheet.
The essentials
- A bodysuit. If you could only bring one piece, it would be this one. Lace, long sleeves, high cut: it works on every body.
- A lingerie set you love. Solid colors always work: black, white, red, nude. Choose a thong or a tanga rather than full briefs, whose waistband cuts the line of your lower back.
- Stockings, classic or fishnet. Simple, affordable and very photogenic.
- Heels. Even if you prefer a casual look, bring at least one pair.
Outfit ideas beyond lingerie
- An oversized men’s shirt, a big knit sweater, knee-high socks: a softer, more relaxed style.
- One piece slightly outside your comfort zone: bolder, or in a color you never wear. We decide together on the day.
- A piece of jewelry that means something to you. I also keep a few body chains in the studio, and a robe is waiting for you.
What you don’t need to buy
- A whole new wardrobe. Three outfits are enough, and your own lingerie often works perfectly.
- Several sets that look alike. Vary styles and fabrics instead.
- String-only G-strings and full briefs: we almost never pick them when we select your images.
Getting the size right
Buy your real size. Too small and lingerie leaves marks on your skin; too big and it gapes when you move. Try it sitting and lying down, not just standing in front of the mirror. And if you have a doubt about a piece, send me a photo: I will tell you honestly whether it will work.
Frequently asked questions
The same pieces work: a bodysuit, a set you love, a shirt or a sheet. My clients wear everything from EU size 36 to 52. Choose your real size, and we adapt poses and light to your body, not the other way around.
We usually photograph three. Bring more if you are hesitating: it is easier to choose together on the day.
No. Your own lingerie often works very well. If you would like to treat yourself to something new, the session is a lovely occasion, but never an obligation.
