You were told your skin should be smooth. I believe it should, above all, be real.
Before a boudoir session, many women worry about their belly, their stretch marks, their curves. That’s normal: we grew up surrounded by retouched images. Here is how I work, and why.
Natural retouching, not a different body
My retouching stays natural. I work on the light, the colors, the mood. But I never add anything to your body, and I never take anything away. The goal is to show you as you are, in your best light.
Of the more than 350 women I have photographed, very few asked me to remove their stretch marks. And those who think about it at first often change their mind when they see their photos.
“I’d rather you didn’t show my belly”
One client, a mother of two, told me when she arrived: “I’d rather you didn’t show my belly.” We kept that in mind during the session.
When she chose her images, she still selected several photos where you can see her belly and her stretch marks. She said: “Even if you can see them, it’s still beautiful.” (translated from French)
Your body isn’t the problem: light and posing do the rest
A beautiful boudoir photo doesn’t come from a perfect body. It comes from the light, the pose, and above all how you feel. I show you every pose before asking for it, I choose the angles that flatter you, and I show you the images as we go.
My clients are between 23 and 64, and wear everything from EU size 36 to 52. After a pregnancy, with curves, scars or stretch marks: you don’t need to wait for a different body to be photographed.
After a pregnancy
Many mothers hesitate because of their belly. I understand. But like the client above, many discover when they see their photos that this belly also tells their story. You remain free to show it or not: we talk about it before the session, and I respect your choice at every moment.
